I started out using cardboard (frosted flake box) templates for cutting my pieces. They started showing a bit of wear, so Windell cut some PCB templates for me. I used a graph paper generator for making my pattern. I don't know where I would have been without a rotary cutter. Read more about the making of my Q*bert quilt in this article.
